Overview: Crisis Text Line believes in meeting people in crisis where they are. This position will spearhead our major donor fundraising strategy and support in generating relationships with donors and foundations who care about mental health. These efforts will create help spread awareness for our cause, generate revenue, and save lives.
We are looking for someone who is kind, goal oriented, and skilled at relationship management.
What you’ll do:
Own philanthropic giving.
Strategy. Creating and executing a major donor fundraising strategy, including short and long-term goals.
Pipeline management. Create a pipeline of potential individual supporters and foundations to drive $5m in philanthropic support in 2020 and $9m in 2021. Develop LTV to understand our investors current giving patterns and opportunities.
Network. Identify and connect with high net worth investors who are passionate about mental health and help them fall in love with our work.
Manage philanthropic relationships.
Relationship management. Own our philanthropic partnerships from the moment they’re locked, making sure our donors love us and smile when they see us in their inbox.
Engagement. Determine a donor retention strategy and bring our work to life for our supporters throughout the duration of their support. Share organizational wins, compelling texter feedback, stakeholder reports and more to keep our cause close to their hearts. Help do what it takes throughout the year so that we’re positioned to renew gifts when the time comes.
Resonate. Identify ways to leverage our data to bring donor impact to life.
Track and report. Organize and execute grant reporting for foundations to illustrate the impact we’ve made together. Work alongside finance to track and report on grant spend.
Forecast. Create projections as needed to support our overall revenue strategy.
Iterate on systems.
Establish new methods and practices for our budding department.
Recommend software to keep us organized from pipeline to receiving to thank yous to renewals.
Collaborate with Finance to track incoming donations from all platforms.
Manage resource allocation and pace against goals for the year.
Who you are:
Experienced. You have 7+ years of experience driving philanthropic development.
Networked and knowledgeable. You have a keen understanding of the mental health philanthropy landscape and have connections with people and foundations in philanthropy who are passionate about this cause.
Goals excite you. You naturally take big goals and breaking them down into achievable wins. And big numbers don’t scare you, they fire you up.
Cool as a cucumber, while in the fast lane: You like moving quickly. And, you handle lane changes in stride and have great prioritization, time management, and organizational skills. You communicate clearly and effectively in meetings and over email. You stay focused and concise while managing multiple projects. You’re warm and positive – other people look forward to meetings with you.
You like to close: You have experience creating and pitching ideas to key decision makers. Asking for money takes guts but you have em. And you’re equal parts kind and thoughtful
