One of TechSoup’s most innovative and impactful programs is NGOsource, a project of the Council on Foundations and TechSoup, a collaborative, sector-designed and built equivalency determination (ED) service and repository for the benefit of US-based international grantmakers and the organizations they support. Since 2013, we have processed more than 7,600 EDs for 380 foundations, streamlining the delivery of an estimated $4 billion in philanthropy while reducing time and cost to foundations and their grantees. NGOsource provides ED services to over 375 grantmakers members and other organizations who are interested in this elite level of grantmaking services. NGOsource’s membership includes nine of the ten largest international grantmakers in the US and 18 of the largest 20, as well as donor advised funds, small and medium-sized family foundations, corporate foundations, and community foundations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Program Operations Associate, NGOsource will assist in the operational success of NGOsource by supporting the Operations team with member management, program management and evolution, and progressing equivalency determinations through the ED lifecycle. In this newly established role, this position will initially comprise mostly of operational support and process management in support of the existing team but will eventually evolve to manage a scope of selected processes and elements of the NGO review process. This position will have the opportunity to live and work in the international grantmaking space and help NGOsource grantmaker members, some of the most exciting and influential foundations in the world send billions of dollars to NGOs working on the front lines of global change.

Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and enable the review of equivalency determination files and submissions:
Review ED submissions from NGOs around the world.
Support the management of the ED pipeline and track deadlines, while prioritizing large volumes of requests.
Quality assurance: resolve platform technical issues by working with technical teams and NGOs. Manage technical improvement processes or supporting research as assigned by the operations and program managers.
Assist with certifying organizations.
Input NGO and grantmaker data and contact information – precise data entry and data quality monitoring.
Offer excellent customer support to NGOs undergoing the ED process.
Support TechSoup’s Global Network in providing local support to NGOs.
Assist managers in ensuring grantmaker customer success.
Collaborate with operations and program managers to improve program and operational efficiencies.
Assist with incoming NGOsource inquiries.
Help to produce internal and external reports about NGOsource services and impact.
Support monthly billing processes.
Support the NGOsource’s team of attorneys operationally and administratively.

Two years of related experience, either with EDs, customer service, or business administration (preferably in the philanthropic sector).
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent management and organizational skills as well as analytical capabilities.
Proven record of leading projects across a variety of skill sets, management levels, and customer needs.
Ability and willingness to work at a tactical level.
Experience working across multiple departments internally and externally.
Knowledge of international grant making desired.
Experience with accounting software or A/R.
Ability to be resourceful and troubleshoot effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge or experience working with a variety of CRM platforms or web-based solutions.
Start-up experience, desired.

Bachelor’s degree preferred
Equivalent mix of education, experience and professional track record will also be considered.
