Earth League International is an innovative hybrid nonprofit organization that merges the worlds of intelligence, investigations, and conservation in service of wildlife and the people who protect it.

Using the Tor technology/dark web, in 2014 we launched WildLeaks, the world’s first wildlife and forest crime whistleblowing initiative. The mission of WildLeaks is to receive and evaluate anonymous information and tips regarding wildlife and forest crimes and transform them into actionable items.

During the first 2 years, and despite having a modest budget for marketing & communication, WildLeaks received over 90 confidential submissions, generated four investigations, and shared more than 20 confidential exchanges of information with other NGOs or law enforcement agencies.

Funders and Awards

The main funder of the WildLeaks project is the American NGO 'Elephant Action League', which launched it in 2014.
In 2014 WildLeaks was a winner of the Nominet Trust 100 award “Tech for Good” in recognition of both the credibility of the concept and the potential still to be realized.
