okayso was started in 2016 by two sex educators who wanted to find a way to bring the support and personalization they were able to provide individually to everyone, without bots. Users who have questions text them to a team of vetted and trained experts who respond (think group chat). Experts microvolunteer, spending about 15 minutes/day on okayso. Users get a personalized and caring experience and access to experts they can't reach any other way. okayso received an Innovation Next grant in 2017 and launched in May 2018 on the App Store. We were listed as one of the New Apps We Love in July 2018 and had a feature article December 2018. We've answered ~7000 questions so far about birth control, sex, dating, identity, stress, and more.
