Quill is an open-source organization that is building apps that engage students in the learning process, a platform that unites these apps into a seamless learning experience, and an open source community of educators and developers who collaboratively build these apps. We are focused on helping children learn how to write, in order for them to become strong critical-thinkers. Quill is free to use, and it is currently being used by over 100,000 students nationwide. We currently feature two games focused on English grammar, and we are now building games that teach vocabulary, peer feedback, and parts of speech. We present teachers with a dashboard that shows them how students are progressing on the Common Core.
