Meet our Marketing Coordinator: Nicole Dunn

Fast Forward welcomes our new Marketing Coordinator: Nicole Dunn. Her story below:

Discovering Fast Forward felt like fate. I’ve always been passionate about the potential for creative solutions to solve the challenging issues our world faces. I was delighted to find Fast Forward – an organization harnessing the power of technology to exponentiate the impact of social good. The idea of measuring success by “lives impacted” versus revenue earned deeply resonated with me.

Before moving to San Francisco and joining Fast Forward, I was with GoFundMe – a crowdfunding platform – where I created resources for campaign organizers to increase their fundraising success. I emphasized:

  1. The importance of engaging audiences through creative storytelling
  2. Amplifying donor reach through strategic sharing techniques
  3. Ensuring that as a campaign organizer, you always keep the donor front and center

During my time with GoFundMe, I took a special interest in expanding the product to meet the needs of children in the crowdfunding space. This curiosity led me to dream up and support the execution of GoFundMe Kid Heroes – a program that facilitated over $1m in donations.

While at UC Santa Cruz where I earned my BA in Environmental Studies, I discovered my passion for environmentalism, actively engaged with social justice movements, and unearthed my love for writing. An entrepreneur at heart, upon graduating, I started a small business connecting babysitters with families in my community.

While our world faces intractable problems that get more pressing each day, organizations are stepping up with unmatched innovation to meet them head on. That’s why I am beyond excited to contribute to the marketing efforts at Fast Forward, and support the expansion of the tech nonprofit sector in general. When I’m not fluttering away on my laptop creating content for Fast Forward, I spend most of my time outside, unplugged.
