Climate change, population growth, aging infrastructure, emerging water contaminants and more all threaten the availability and affordability of a clean, reliable water supply in California. The water managers tasked with battling these challenges often face incomplete and unreliable information, outdated IT systems, and institutional fragmentation that hinder their efforts to plan and react to these uncertain and changing conditions. The CaDC serves as a neutral space for the water industry to collaborate on the creation of open source software, data, standards, and research that support the informed planning and analysis needed to ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply in California into an uncertain future.
