AccesSOS was started because the founder’s Deaf father had a gallbladder rupture and was not able to call 911 for help. We set out to solve the inaccessibility of emergency services for people with disabilities and those that cannot communicate in English across the United States. We have produced a highly accessible app that will allow all Americans to quickly and efficiently contact 911 by SMS (texting). AccesSOS provides a progressive web app; this means that any user that has a smart phone with a web browser can text 911 using our link, with no need to download an app. Our app will be available in multiple languages and English, sending the dispatcher the user's emergency location, and the type of help they need in less than 20 seconds.
