AmpleHarvest.org is a nationwide non-profit that uses the Internet to diminish wasted food and hunger, improve nutrition, and help the environment in America by educating, encouraging, and enabling millions of backyard gardeners to easily find a local food pantry eager for their excess garden bounty. Functioning as an education program and a food pantry search engine, AmpleHarvest.org operates entirely virtually. We have outsourced the logistics of transporting the food, directly to the gardeners themselves. It therefore scales easily and can work with any community in the country without having its "boots" on the ground - because the 42M gardeners themselves *are* the boots on the ground.
