Beehive is a nonprofit, open source initiative launched by former United Nations staff bringing humanitarian organizations, tech volunteers, and supporters together to solve and model how to vastly improve humanitarian crowdfunding. Humanitarian organizations use open data sharing frameworks like IATI to make information about their aid activities, transactions, and results visible to other organizations, improving operational coordination and accountability. We’re building the backend architecture crowdfunding platforms need to power innovative IATI-connected applications. And we’re building our own crowdfunding platform to model how linking aid activity reporting, open data sharing, and crowd-fundraising can work and serve the humanitarian community and donors in beneficial ways.
