The Center for RISC at UChicago is the brainchild of Steve Levitt, author of the Freakonomics series. A cross between an incubator and a consultancy, with the feel of a startup and the mission of a nonprofit, RISC aims to identify and scale solutions to some of the world’s biggest social problems. Driven by curiosity, unfettered by orthodoxy, and grounded in the sciences of human behavior, we combine unconventional perspectives and empirical data to explore potentially paradigm-breaking ideas.
