We eliminate donation waste by decentralizing philanthropy. We believe the beneficiary knows best what they need to rebuild their lives. The Duet platform allows beneficiaries to choose the exact items they need during times of transition and allows donors to choose the exact items they are interested in funding - challenging the status quo of bulk donations and establishing a transparent philanthropic system. Duet beneficiaries choose items from local, family-owned stores by uploading a photo through the Duet interface. These interactions between previously disparate groups lead to empathy, acceptance, and friendship - which are essential to promote in the aftermath of economic and social crises such as the refugee crisis and the epidemic homelessness in LA (Duet's first focuses).
