With ENVenture, participating community-based organizations receive a revolving loan and a business coach that mentors them in launching their own clean energy business, undertaking the packaged business concept from idea to execution. In addition to the incubator, ENVenture is developing a native mobile app productivity tool to capture inventory, input sales, and forecast orders. It’s like Square, but customized for rural markets, designed for use by low-literate entrepreneurs, and runs on 2G networks. Entrepreneurs can generate sales reports and send them to others with the click of a button. Best of all, no computer is needed.
