Almost 50% of undergraduates in the United States start their higher education at a community college. Seventy percent of students of color start their undergraduate career at a community college. However, less than half of the 12 million students enrolled in a community college manage to graduate or transfer to a four-year college within six years. Completion is critical: those who complete an AA or certificate earn at least $500,000 more over their lifetime; ($1 million more with a bachelor’s degree). By delivering free nudge notifications to their iOS and Android smartphones, GradGuru helps students keep track of academic and financial aid deadlines, guides them through critical milestones, and encourages and rewards them for behaviors proven to lead to academic success.
