The One Laptop Per Child Association, Inc. designs, manufactures, and distributes laptops that are sufficiently inexpensive to provide every child in the world access to knowledge and modern forms of education. OLPC aims to provide every child with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop. To this end, they have designed hardware (the XO Laptop), content, and software for collaborative, joyful, and self-empowered learning. With access to this type of tool, children are engaged in their own education, and learn, share, and create together. They become connected to each other, to the world and to a brighter future.

  • One Education, a One Laptop per Child offshoot, is helping thousands of teachers prepare children for a world of digital opportunities. Last year alone they found and inspired over 2,500 teachers to not only use their XO computer as a central theme to their teaching but also to help them deliver 50,000 computers to their students.
