Operation ASHA’s mission is to expand access to services and products of a high quality at affordable prices among disadvantaged communities worldwide with a focus on delivery of health services. Operation ASHA does this by providing the last mile connectivity, i.e. health service delivery at the doorsteps of the under-served. OpASHA trains their health workers to use E-Compliance Suite, a low-cost tablet connected to a fingerprint reader, developed in partnership with MIT for social research and Microsoft Research for technology. E-Compliance Suite verifies patient attendance and digitizes attendance records that are then sent to a central server and alert patients and health workers whenever a scheduled dose is missed.
