Founded in 2008, Rang De is India's oldest crowdsourced micro-lending portal that connects the haves and the have-nots. Individuals who want to make a difference provide working capital to pre-selected rural individuals hovering at or near the poverty line. Given their philanthropic nature, our lenders are happy with low returns on their investment allowing these low-income individuals to get access to loans that are affordable with the interest rates being the lowest in the country. In this manner, a community of 10,000+ lenders have pooled together US$740,000 worth of funds to benefit 52,000 families across 17 states of India. With the majority of beneficiaries being rural women (many are first-time borrowers), we help them access financial credit in a way that works for them.
