4 million dollars. That’s the staggering amount HPE Accelerating Impact campaigns have infused into the tech nonprofit sector. This year, we were thrilled to continue our partnership with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Foundation on this transformative campaign, which brings together HPE employees and tech nonprofits for major impact.
From the U.S. to Argentina to Poland, HPE Accelerating Impact empowered employees to learn about and support the work of 40 tech nonprofits. Each HPE team member received a $25 credit from the HPE Foundation to donate to the tech nonprofit of their choice. The 2021 result: over 28,000 HPE employees participated in the campaign, donating a total of $1.3M to the 40 tech nonprofits. (Yep, it also took us a second to process these whopping numbers.)
“We’re honored to contribute nearly $1.3M in total this year for the tech nonprofit sector in support of their innovative solutions during what remains a critical time of immense need.”
Brian Tippens, Chief Sustainability Officer and President of HPE Foundation
As we move towards a post-pandemic world, it’s clear that digital solutions are critical to driving more equitable communities. Tech nonprofits are bringing these solutions to people across the globe – making the support from HPE Accelerating Impact incredibly timely. The organizations in the campaign are building sensors that ensure COVID-19 vaccines are delivered safely, reading tools that are reversing pandemic learning loss for students, and technology that helps refugees find and reconnect with missing loved ones.
HPE employees raised the most for Thorn, which uses AI to combat online child sexual abuse; Allies Against Slavery, the tech nonprofit building custom technology to fight human trafficking; and Rainforest Connection, which leverages mobile technology to protect rainforests in real time.
But all 40 tech nonprofits clearly inspired. The “Give to all” option, which allows employees to split their donation evenly across all of the tech nonprofits, was the second highest selected by HPE team members. This year, employees also had an opportunity to double their impact through an early bird incentive, which allowed them to make two donations.
Since HPE Accelerating Impact wrapped up, both the participating tech nonprofits and HPE employees have expressed how meaningful the campaign was. Develop for Good shared: “We are beyond grateful for the support we received through the HPE Accelerating Impact Campaign. With this funding, we can connect more underrepresented college students to nonprofits to increase these organizations’ digital capacity. We have big plans for scaling our services to students and nonprofits across the country, and HPE’s support gives us the means to realize this vision.”

HPE employees were excited to share about the campaign and who they chose to support:
For three years, HPE Accelerating Impact has helped tech nonprofits impact millions of people across the world. We are inspired by these organizations, and by the entire HPE team’s commitment to supercharging their work. We could not be more grateful to be in partnership with HPE and HPE Foundation to advance tech for good!
